How to Make a Paper Plate Spider for Halloween

You Will Need:

  • 2 paper plates
  • Googly eyes
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Acrylic paint
  • Paint brush
  • Stapler (or tape)
  • Glue

Instructions:

Step 1

Paint two paper plates the colour of your choice. Just the underside is fine as you won't be seeing the inside of the spider.

Step 2

Once dried, line up the paper plates with the paint facing the outside. Position 8 pipe cleaners (4 on either side) between the plates and staple them down. If your child in unaccompanied by an adult, you can use tape instead.

Step 3

Stick on your googly eyes! An alternative if you don't have any is using a marker to draw them on.

Step 4

If you would like to put your spider on display, punch a hole into the top of the spider and thread some string through it. It will look as if the spider is hanging down a web!

Step 5

And lastly, if you haven't already, don't forget to bend your spiders legs. Just manipulate the wire in your pipe cleaners until they look as creepy and crawly as you like!
